Weekly Link Roundup - July 25, 2008

I’ve just started a new thing with this blog which is a weekly link roundup. I usually stop by a few blogs a week and check out their content and some usually have some interesting topics. These weekly blog posts will ping you in some interesting topics so I hope you enjoy them!

  • Contest Over At EnkayBlog.com!
EnkayBlog has a contest currently running which is to end in ten days! He has some great prizes that you’ll definitely enjoy so I’d participate in his contest if I were you. Market Leverage is the company that’s sponsoring his contest and is a great company if you’re looking into affiliate marketing. Prizes consist of a brand new Asus EEE Laptop PC, a $50 AMEX Rewards Card and 3 2GB USB Pens!
  • Help! My Affiliate Manager Sucks!
Zac Johnson details how you can tell if you’re affiliate manager sucks and how it can be improved. Having a good affiliate manager when working with PPC campaigns is definitely a plus and is a must have. Zac is a super affiliate himself!
  • He Made A Blog Worth Millions!
Alborz Fallah has brought up a blog about a year and half back and has made it one of the top Australian blogs
in any category. His blog basically reviews cars out there and receives a great amount of visitors to his blog daily. You can read or listen to his interview over at Entrepreneurs-Journey.
  • With Adsense, Less Can Be More
Scott Wainner discusses how you can really improve your Adsense revenue after testing his method out. It’s a great read considering most webmasters uses Adsense and can probably help bring in a little more cheddar to your pockets.
  • Being Transparent
Many companies are willing to let their consumers go behind their scenes and show you what they are up to behind close doors and that’s exactly what Bob Buskirk discusses. He shows us how a company can be more transparent.

Hope you enjoy your read through these blogs! If you’d like to for me to link to your interetsting posts, then feel free to contact me or comment about it in any of my weekly link roundup posts and I’ll be sure to include you in the next available update.

Differences Of Websites

I’d say that when it comes down to what type of websites we prefer having, everyone has their favorites. Whether it be the niche or whether it be the kind of work you do on a website. There’s really a website for almost anything nowadays. The huge differences of websites I’d say would be the high maintenance websites and the low maintenances websites. Wheter it be either one, both of these type of websites has their benefits to any web publisher.

High Maintenance Websites:

  • Requires to be updated very frequently.
  • Takes up more time maintain.
  • Provides higher quality content than low maintenance websites.
  • Visitors are usually more engaged in discussions.

An example of an high maintenance website would be a blog. Blogs requires some time to be updated on a frequent basis, requires some time to engage with users interactivity and also requires a lot more work/effort to promote. These type of websites are generally worth a lot once you’ve gained much reputation/popularity and have a nice base of readers.

Low Maintenance Websites:

  • Most are easy to build and can only take a couple of hours to set up.
  • Usually needs updates but can updates can usually be made automatically.
  • Usually established and then later on sold for profits.
  • Ability to purchase one already established for a few bucks.
  • Many are started with turnkey scripts and are turnkey websites.

You can easily start these type of websites and start making money instantly with little effort. For most, you can purchase an already made script and have it up in a flash. Little HTML knowledge is usually required but it’s a great way to start out for new publishers. While playing around with it, you can gain quite a bit of knowledge on many aspects of maintaining a website.

I enjoy working with both type of websites but I’d have to say that low maintenance websites can be a great way to make money much sooner off of. I currently run both type of websites and it’s quite different the way you promote them. The niche of the site definitely plays a huge role though therfore; you shouldn’t conclude that all low maintenance websites would make you instant profits off of. The more type of websites that are out there that are similar to yours in your niche, the easier it is to grow in my opinion. It’s only the matter of communication with the other webmasters.

What are your opinions of these type of websites? Which one do you prefer to work with?

Simply Getting Busy

It’s been quite a few days since I have posted something in this blog. Just to let you know, I’m still here but really have been busy with a lot of work that I’ve been trying to get done. Starting up new projects can get you really busy especially when you’re dedicated to making it work. :)

I will be providing more information about these projects very soon for all of you who are interested. Just a quick tip before I go, focus on your niche and you’ll succeed. For many people, stepping into many niches at once to see if they can make some decent money online idea won’t work. Being successful in a niche requires that you know the ins and outs of it.

Focusing on the one niche will definitely find results much sooner. It may take weeks, months or even years but you’ll definitely find the key to it.
