Are You In It For The Long Run?
You can be either in one of two sides. The long run or the short run where you take the money and go! This is the deal that goes on within every new website. Websites such as Google, Myspace, Yahoo has been going at it for the long run but new websites that were recently started and then sold off after a couple of months are in it for the short run.
There’s no bad thing about being in it for the short run but do you believe that it would be more beneficial to be in it for the long run? Having the three top websites mentioned above, they are now making millions simply for going at it in the long run. Sure they’ve started pretty early but is that a factor that would hold you back? I’m usually in it for the long run in any of my websites. At least, that’s why I believe when running a website as it can help bring in more dedication towards it. You can easily make a new website and then get some decent traffic and statistics to it and then sell it off for a few hundreds but keeping it for a while and then selling it off for a few thousands sounds a lot better to me.
I currently own and run a website that can be sold in the low to mid x,xxx figures. I choose to not sell it and get away with that x,xxx amount simply because I believe it has a lot more potential. Also, selling a website brings you back to zero. That’s where you started and all that work you’ve put into it took a long time to do which is simply going to waste.
Are you in it for the long run or the short run?
