Adsense Retires Adsense Referrals

What can you say? It’s about time that they’ve done so but I didn’t expect for them to do so quite yet. But as you can see, Adsense and it’s publishers did do their part in introducing this ad network’s referral program. In my opinion, almost every webmaster or web publisher knows about Adsense as a CPC ad network and not a CPA network. I haven’t heard of any PPC marketers promoting Adsense and claiming that they made tons of money with Adsense Referrals program.

So here’s what their email had to say…

Hello,

Thank you for participating in the AdSense Referrals program.
We’re writing to let you know that we will be retiring the AdSense
Referrals program during the last week of August. We appreciate
your patience during this transition and here are some alternative
options to consider:

* Google Affiliate Network: As part of the integration of
DoubleClick, the DoubleClick Performics Affiliate Network will now
operate as the Google Affiliate Network for advertisers targeting
users located in the United States. Similar to the AdSense
Referrals program, the Google Affiliate Network enables publishers
to apply for advertiser programs and get paid based on
advertiser-defined actions instead of clicks or impressions. For
further details, please visit:
www.google.com/ads/affiliatenetwork.
* AdSense for content ads: If you have less than three AdSense
for content ad units on a page, you may wish to replace the
referral ad units with standard AFC ad units.

If you currently use referral ads, either to promote Google
products or offerings from AdWords advertisers, AdSense Referrals
code will no longer display ads beginning the last week of August.
We encourage you to take the following steps before the product is
retired:

* Remove the referral code from your site(s): Please take a
moment to remove all referral code from your sites before the last
week of August, so you can continue to effectively monetize your
ad space.
* Run and save all referrals reports on your desktop: Create
and save all reports related to the referrals program on your
desktop, so you continue to have access to your valuable campaign
information

Why is this happening?
We’re constantly looking for ways to improve AdSense by developing
and supporting features which drive the best monetization results
for our publishers. Sometimes, this requires retiring existing
features so we can focus our efforts on the ones that will be most
effective in the long term.  For this reason, we will be retiring
the AdSense Referrals program. If you have any additional
questions, please visit our Help Center:

Sincerely.

The Google AdSense Team

Now that puts an end to the email that was sent to me by Adsense. Most of you should already received it but it’s just a note for those who hasn’t received it or has never checked their email. Have you been getting any new sign ups lately with Adsense Referrals or are the offers not too good to make some profit out of?

Spend Less, Invest More!

If you have already started out or plan to start out in the near future, the key to online success is to spend less and invest more. In reality, you don’t have to spend a dime out of your pocket when you’re starting out on the net to begin making some money. I wouldn’t suggest spending money out of your pockets either because you are then tempted to spend it in useless place that doesn’t have much value. A few examples would include in e-books, non-targeted advertisements and overpriced hosting packages. It is possible to get cheap targeted traffic from great sources and it’s also possible to get cheap hosting plans that are from great companies.

You just mentioned not to use my own money and then titled the post to ‘Spend less, Invest more!.’ How can that be possible?

Consider the beginning stage of making money online your stage to learn how everything goes. You can easily build up a website, get free hosting and also get a free sub-domain name. It definitely won’t go far but this is the moment for you to gain some knowledge about the online business. While your at it, you will definitely be able to locate a few webmaster forums where there is simply online webmasters that posts on the forum.

This is where you can grab plenty of information and at the same time, make some quick bucks. If you are like others, you would rather spend your own money for domain name and hosting costs which can go up to $100 a year for starters, but why spend that much when you can possibly make it on the internet without much effort? That’s the best way to start out without paying a dime.

Once you are officially ready and know quite a bit of information, I’d go and purchase a top line domain name and a cheap but good hosting plan to start out my website. In order to spend less and invest more, you must be willing to the following step which is to use only a portion of your revenue and use most of it onto your website to help improve it. Results would increase at a much faster pace and it will only be a matter of time before you can actually start making decent money from your website.

This step may be hard simply because you aren’t making much from your website. In this situation, my suggestions would be directed at how much you make. If you’re making less than $100 per month on your website, then invest 100% of all the revenue you make back onto the site. If you make over $100 per month, spend 10% and invest 90% back onto your site.

Great results will occur once you get the hang of this. It may be hard at the beginning but eventually it will all pay off.

There’s Profits Behind Every Great Company

About a year or two ago, I’ve tested an ad network for simply a few days and found out that I couldn’t make much from them. So with this in mind, I quickly removed their ads and replaced it with another. Now a year or two later, I’ve realized that you can make so much money with AdEngage if you use it right.

There’s definitely profit in this company and with only a couple of weeks of stats, it’s promising that it will be one of my top revenue networks. Their system is a great system from viewing stats to publishing their advertisements on your website. If you are pretty good with HTML, then you can easily change up their code and make them appealing to your visitors which goes the same for AdBrite.

Making this simple change to my code, my CTR was able to bounce real high and sales started to roll in. It’s just a matter of weeks before I can actually see the revenue come in. If you haven’t tested out a company yet, do not underestimate it because behind every great company, comes profits!

What I believe AdEngage lacks now is a referral system in which publishers can refer new advertisers as well as publishers because it would bring in new clients to them much sooner than usual. I look forward to seeing the improvements on AdEngage in the upcoming months.

Online Revenue Is Passive Income

For all of you that didn’t know, online revenue is considered passive income. Passive income is income that comes to you effortlessly. That’s the beauty of it and why many people strive to make a lot of money online instead taking a real time job.

I prefer making passive income instead of earned income because you can still earn income and still work at the same time to even double it! Depending on how you far you get it, passive income is a lot more than earned income in the long run. For an example, you worked really hard and bought a house and then finished paying it off. You can now be making passive income from it by renting it off to someone else. While you moved on to your second mortgage, you’re still earning money from your previous house if you rent it off to someone else.

With your passive income, you can even use it to pay your second mortgage and not to have to work real hard to make enough money to pay it off. That’s the simple beauty of passive income. I think I speak for everyone when I say passive income is the best but I may be wrong so…

What type of income do you prefer?

Having A Good Server Helps Profits

As I said earlier, selling direct ads is a great way to increase revenue throughout your website. Even though it may be, there will come many disadvantages to it. One of these disadvantages would include having server loss. This is a major factor that can hurt you in terms of revenue.

Unlike Adsense, where you don’t get paid when you don’t have their code up or when your site’s server goes down for long periods of time, selling direct ads can affect you when your site’s server goes down and soon after when your recovering all the lost. An example would be when your server going down for five days and then after it coming back to it’s feet you have to give all your private advertisers five days of additional ad placements. After this, you will have to work on increasing traffic because you’ve lost a few returning visitors.

Tyler Cruz is a well-known blogger and has went on a vacation so who knows when he’ll be back. Ever since he left, his blog has been down so I’m assuming that he doesn’t have a laptop with him to check up on these kinds of stuff. For all of you who knows him already, he makes his living off of online revenue; therefore, this can affect him harshly.

Making sure you have the best server will assure you to not lose any profits at all. An ounce of prevention is always worth a pound of cure. Take the little steps now to help you out in the future so that you never lose anything. Also, plan to have backup at least somewhere so that you can make money elsewhere at the same time.
