If you’re a web publisher or webmaster, then you all should have your favorite niche that you like to work with. Whether it’s something you enjoy doing, something that’s gotten you success or probably something you make your living off of. I’d have to say that my favorite niche out of all would be… online arcades!

A lot of people underestimate these type of websites as they say the market is too saturated but trust me, a market is never too saturated. You simply have to work your way around it in order to accomplish higher goals. I’ve been in the arcade niche for about a year or two and learned a lot. I’ve been able to earn a few bucks since starting out and my revenue simply kept increasing time after time.

If you’re one of those that are testing out all type of niche websites, then keep doing that and eventually you will be able to find one of your choosing. However, over the next few days, I’ll be discussing how you can start your own arcade and start making money with it! I will publish it all for free and will be providing you with more information on my current arcades.

I believe this will be a very long topic so I’ll be breaking it in sections and will be publishing them out on a daily basis. I don’t believe it will exceed five posts though but it will definitely be descriptive with statistics as well. It’s never to late to enter this niche and you will only know if you can do it, if you try!

Have you had success with a niche of yours? Comment about it and let us know!

I just recently purchased my own server these past few days and have been busy transferring all my websites to it. When you have a lot of websites, you can get quite overwhelmed in the process of transferring websites. Like most of you would say, just get your new hosting provider to do it for you but I prefer to do it myself.

I’ve dealt with quite a bit of hosts and every host has a different outcome. I remember loosing quite a bit of files from a last transfer on a website of mine that I had my new host transfer for me but luckily, I still had my old hosting account up so I was quick to get the files back.

I’m about to start the transfer for this blog and should be completed momentarily but changing the nameservers is the big concern since it can take up to 36 hours but usually just a couple of hours for many people. After all, I’ll be hosted in my own box so no more worries about other users abusing the server!

Help! My Affiliate Manager Sucks!

He Made A Blog Worth Millions!
Alborz Fallah has brought up a blog about a year and half back and has made it one of the top Australian blogs in any category. His blog basically reviews cars out there and receives a great amount of visitors to his blog daily. You can read or listen to his interview over at Entrepreneurs-Journey.

Being Transparent
Many companies are willing to let their consumers go behind their scenes and show you what they are up to behind close doors and that’s exactly what Bob Buskirk discusses. He shows us how a company can be more transparent.

I’d say that when it comes down to what type of websites we prefer having, everyone has their favorites. Whether it be the niche or whether it be the kind of work you do on a website. There’s really a website for almost anything nowadays. The huge differences of websites I’d say would be the high maintenance websites and the low maintenances websites. Wheter it be either one, both of these type of websites has their benefits to any web publisher.

High Maintenance Websites:

Requires to be updated very frequently.

Takes up more time maintain.

Provides higher quality content than low maintenance websites.

Visitors are usually more engaged in discussions.

An example of an high maintenance website would be a blog. Blogs requires some time to be updated on a frequent basis, requires some time to engage with users interactivity and also requires a lot more work/effort to promote. These type of websites are generally worth a lot once you’ve gained much reputation/popularity and have a nice base of readers.

Low Maintenance Websites:

Most are easy to build and can only take a couple of hours to set up.

Usually needs updates but can updates can usually be made automatically.

Usually established and then later on sold for profits.

Ability to purchase one already established for a few bucks.

Many are started with turnkey scripts and are turnkey websites.

You can easily start these type of websites and start making money instantly with little effort. For most, you can purchase an already made script and have it up in a flash. Little HTML knowledge is usually required but it’s a great way to start out for new publishers. While playing around with it, you can gain quite a bit of knowledge on many aspects of maintaining a website.

I enjoy working with both type of websites but I’d have to say that low maintenance websites can be a great way to make money much sooner off of. I currently run both type of websites and it’s quite different the way you promote them. The niche of the site definitely plays a huge role though therfore; you shouldn’t conclude that all low maintenance websites would make you instant profits off of. The more type of websites that are out there that are similar to yours in your niche, the easier it is to grow in my opinion. It’s only the matter of communication with the other webmasters.

What are your opinions of these type of websites? Which one do you prefer to work with?

Just to let you know, I’m still here but really have been busy with a lot of work that I’ve been trying to get done. Starting up new projects can get you really busy especially when you’re dedicated to making it work.

I will be providing more information about these projects very soon for all of you who are interested. Just a quick tip before I go, focus on your niche and you’ll succeed. For many people, stepping into many niches at once to see if they can make some decent money online idea won’t work. Being successful in a niche requires that you know the ins and outs of it.

Focusing on the one niche will definitely find results much sooner. It may take weeks, months or even years but you’ll definitely find the key to it.

For the month of July, I’ll be working really hard on increasing traffic. I believe in order to make more money with any blog or website, that traffic must come first and then the revenue will follow. Ofcourse, the revenue will follow later on but you would also have to monetize your website a bit to reach the maximum revenue possible on your blog or website. Considering I will be working on traffic and not on revenue, I am willing to provide free ad spots on my blog! So without further ado, here are the available ad spots…

Top Right 468×60 (1):
This ad will appear in the top right section of the header.

Right Sidebar 125×125 (8):
There is two upper 100×100 buttons available a long with 6 right sidebar buttons available.

Top Right Sidebar 98×125 (1):
This banner is located right next to the other two 125×125 buttons on the top right sidebar.

That’s all the available ad spots currently available. I will be providing one free ad spot per visitor and it’s a first come, first serve basis so hurry while the ad spots last! One last thing, I would greatly appreciate it if you posted a link to my site anywhere on your blog or website. Probably a link on a blog post, blogroll or anywhere available.

Leave your comments below or email me using the contact form to request your free ad spots.

What can you say? It’s about time that they’ve done so but I didn’t expect for them to do so quite yet. But as you can see, Adsense and it’s publishers did do their part in introducing this ad network’s referral program. In my opinion, almost every webmaster or web publisher knows about Adsense as a CPC ad network and not a CPA network. I haven’t heard of any PPC marketers promoting Adsense and claiming that they made tons of money with Adsense Referrals program.

So here’s what their email had to say…

Hello,

Thank you for participating in the AdSense Referrals program.
We’re writing to let you know that we will be retiring the AdSense
Referrals program during the last week of August. We appreciate
your patience during this transition and here are some alternative
options to consider:

* Google Affiliate Network: As part of the integration of
DoubleClick, the DoubleClick Performics Affiliate Network will now
operate as the Google Affiliate Network for advertisers targeting
users located in the United States. Similar to the AdSense
Referrals program, the Google Affiliate Network enables publishers
to apply for advertiser programs and get paid based on
advertiser-defined actions instead of clicks or impressions. For
further details, please visit:
www.google.com/ads/affiliatenetwork.
* AdSense for content ads: If you have less than three AdSense
for content ad units on a page, you may wish to replace the
referral ad units with standard AFC ad units.

If you currently use referral ads, either to promote Google
products or offerings from AdWords advertisers, AdSense Referrals
code will no longer display ads beginning the last week of August.
We encourage you to take the following steps before the product is
retired:

* Remove the referral code from your site(s): Please take a
moment to remove all referral code from your sites before the last
week of August, so you can continue to effectively monetize your
ad space.
* Run and save all referrals reports on your desktop: Create
and save all reports related to the referrals program on your
desktop, so you continue to have access to your valuable campaign
information

Why is this happening?
We’re constantly looking for ways to improve AdSense by developing
and supporting features which drive the best monetization results
for our publishers. Sometimes, this requires retiring existing
features so we can focus our efforts on the ones that will be most
effective in the long term. For this reason, we will be retiring
the AdSense Referrals program. If you have any additional
questions, please visit our Help Center:
http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/topic.py?topic=14882

Sincerely.

The Google AdSense Team

Now that puts an end to the email that was sent to me by Adsense. Most of you should already received it but it’s just a note for those who hasn’t received it or has never checked their email. Have you been getting any new sign ups lately with Adsense Referrals or are the offers not too good to make some profit out of?

When you’re about to go purchase your new domain name, you’ve got to consider the benefits in choosing the right domain name. There’s many small factors that you can put into one that can completely change how you manage your website. It can lead you to a much sooner success or it can lead you to an instant downfall. A few tips that you should try when purchasing your next domain name should be as follow…

Short & Simple
You’ve probably heard this most often but in reality, it’s true. Visitors would most likely prefer to type in a ten or less character domain name rather than a fifteen to twenty character domain name. Unless you can build your brand quite well, there’s no benefits in purchasing a domain name with many characters.

Use Keywords
If you’re starting out with a brand new website and have a small budget or would rather spend less on advertising, then I would highly suggest you to purchase a domain name with the good keywords that will attract visitors to your site. Won’t this not only bring in a higher quality to your site on the search engines, but it’s a very easy way to rack up many backlinks under the keywords you’re working for. Who would not want search engine traffic?

Avoid Dashes
Avoiding dashes in domain names is a great way to benefit highly on ‘word of mouth’ traffic. It’s not really common for a website that receives a lot of traffic to have dashes in their domain names but if it’s a must due to special keywords being placed in it, then I’d say go for it.

Use Preferred Extensions
When you’re thinking of ideas for your website, you must include your visitors. They are what make up a major percentage of your website so include them in your thoughts. Many visitors are most common with the .COM extension but if your site is targeting visitors from the UK, then you would probably want to use the .CO.UK domain extension.

Avoid Taken Names
If you truly want to make your website unique, avoid taking names that are already used. For example, if the preferred domain name extension of the domain name you want is taken and it has an established site there, then you wouldn’t want to create another site with the same name. But if it is taken and the domain name is parked or something like that, then I’d say feel free to use the same name with another extension.

Now that you’ve got some useful tips on what you should consider on your next domain name, try taking them into consideration when you purchase your next domain name. Using these tips can also bring in more value to your domain name. Simply by not following one of these requirements, the value can decrease by a huge percantage.
